After a well deserved short break from the campaign over the Christmas period, the group awoken to continue the fight to have the Whitehill incinerator scraped.
It is not acceptable that a plant of this nature is being built within a housing scheme, only 80 odd metres from a site which houses around 10 families and 3 schools within around 1000m.
Pollution from this plant will rain down on our children daily as it will be burning 24/7 and to keep it going there will be around 120 bin lorries bringing unrecyclable waste to be zapped, meaning that we would be taking waste from England as its tucked conveniently just off the M74 from Carlisle, this type of plant has not been tested and must be stopped.
I have started this new year with the resolution to fight and give as much as I can to prevent this plant being built on my doorstep, we do not take this lightly and a huge burden will be over our shoulders we will strive to educate the community and to help them see that we can only win this fight if we stand together united.
The next stage will be when the application to build the plant is with SEPA at that point we will be all go to try and get as many people in the surrounding areas to raise objection to the running of this incinerator so close to housing and within 600metres of St Paul's Primary School and nursery.
We united will make a firmer stance in 2016 and say No the incinerator, and pledge to have this stopped for the health and wellbeing of our children.
